Treatment and Cautions for Sore Throats

Even though there is not any medication for a sore throat began with cold virus, but there are different methods that help you felt more relaxed:

Self-Care Remedies:

  • You can drink warm liquids, eat cool and soft food.
  • Gargling with warm salt water help you in reducing swelling and give you relieve from anxiety. It can help relax a sore throat and breakdown secretions. Gargling also help you in killing bacteria in the throat. (You can Gargle at least an hour with 1 tsp (5 g) of salt which should be dissolved in 8 fl oz (240 mL) of warm water)
  • You can smoky environments and smoking.
  • You can use a humidifier or vaporizer which eventually help you feel more relaxed and soothing the swollen air passages. It may also give you relief from throatiness. 
  • You can also get an over-the-counter medicine as prescribed by the doctor.
  • You can also take some rest, can eat a healthy food, and drink sufficient amount of fluids.
